The Apathy & Ignorance of Trump n co.
The right wing war on art, the media and dissent is comical. Using power in this way fundamentally undermines all the goals of these people. Besides, using ends to justify means is in itself the realm of dictators. Trump and his administration use terms like safety and freedom to make the overwhelming percentage of people in the world less safe and less free.
The Supreme Court can make corporations into individual citizens and take away our rights. But it takes Trump assuming the stock market is an adequate measure of economic well being to scale back all social spending. And politicians can talk all they want about foreign policy priorities. It takes Trump's wrecking ball to every agency involved in diplomacy to create the kind of chaos we see in every corner of the world.
The entire point of our Constitution is that no one gets forgotten. The men who wrote it were not naive, like Trump. They used history as their guide, as they planned for a more just future. Our founders would be disgusted that Trump has imprisoned migrants seeking asylum and people from foreign countries here to work. Trump is fighting some personal war against both President Biden and President Obama's policies. Trump is murdering American citizens on the streets. Trump is murdering suspected drug dealers and foreign leaders at will. Unlike past Republican Administrations though, these are not covert actions. The current administration is perfectly proud to violate the Constitution on a daily basis.
The bodies have piled up for the Trump Administration. But they have gone nowhere. This administration wants us all to wait until they have built all their new prison camps and all their new data centers for everything to be ok again. Tens of thousands of innocent people who used Biden's immigration app are in jail tonight. Tens of thousands of sailors are trapped on vessels at sea because Trump lost to Iran. And hundreds of families await justice after the Trump administration decided to murder, instead of arrest, their loved ones suspected of transporting drugs thousands upon thousands miles from the states.
The Republicans believe their all out attack on Democracy will prolong their all out attacks on everything and anything else. It is stunning how rogue the party is and how they have effectively turned off Congress. The Republicans will have to send troops to block the polls to remain in power though. The Republicans spent all the money. They complained for generations about how Democrats wanted to spend all the money, but no one but the current crop of Republicans ever in modern history actually spent all the money. They have made Democrats look absolutely genius. Had Harris and Walz won the election, the country would have green energy to use, green jobs to fill and green money to spend on the kids, the elderly and the bridges.
And Republicans like Trump n co. need to realize that they'll never win a battle against the media or art. That may be the most fruitless part of their sad march towards authoritarianism. "Generals gathered in the masses, just like witches at black masses."
