No One Is Above The Law - God Loves That
8/2
Aren't ends supposed to excuse the means ? It is troubling how many people get fired by the administration, how many people die by their hands and how much money they spend, with absolutely no results. Congress is right there, rubber stamping the rollover, cheering on the aggression and ignoring all the paperwork. We have a country on edge and a world at war due to strictly Republican goals, and their supporting decisions. Bankrupt are the Republicans, in their ends, and their means.
Nevermind the enormous gulf between what the CIA has in its bank account, what ICE has in its account, what has been appropriated for the war in Iran, and what has been appropriated by Republicans for ordinary Americans. The Republicans are acting like the CIA and ICE are the institutions we rely on to keep the American Dream alive. They have jettisoned federal agencies, threatened the judiciary and unleashed lawfare on Democraic states and the media. And this is all being done under the guise of returning America to its white, Christian roots.
It is absolutely ridiculous to continue entertaining the Republican platform as some sort of leveling of the playing field. Notice when a Democrat calls a Republican a fascist, you know, for outlawing being against fascism and all, the Republican blames the Dem for turning up the heat. Yet, they turn around and call all the Democrats a bunch of communists. Aside from the blatant hypocrisy, the Republicans have lost sight of the fact that fascist, communist and dictator are all interchangeable. Republicans like CIA Director George Bush built a career befriending and undermining fascist dictators who were funded by communists. Republicans sound both dumb and uninformed. And they gleefully place those labels on ther supporters.
The brick walls that the Trump administration keeps hitting, as it tries to rid the country of all its "criminals," prove they are just undermining our sturdy immigrant and migrant roots. The administration this week grabbed a Johns Hopkins professor and a UMBC professor at airports. It has been proven that a very high percentage of people they are holding behind bars, for civil offences, have no criminal record. The groups most likely to hire immigrants and migrants, are folks like Pulte Homes and the Trump Organizaiton. The Republicans are killing people in the streets, using masked and unidentified police forces, while telling Democrats they're putting everyone in danger.
The United States of American has seen through the facade of the Trump Administraiton. The USA has had enough of Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. These guys were annointed to solve America's toughest issues overseas. And the two of them handed the world over to the Saudis, as if America's forien policy was LIV Golf. All they do is make more war, as JD Vance goes to bat for Victor Orbain.
And the USA has had quite enough tough talk from all the Republican politicians from Louisiana. As someone who once lived in that great state, we all have to be honest and report that Louisiana is ranked very last in every single catagory that we rank states. America does not want to be Louisiana. Yet the entire Republican powerbase is based there for some reason. Oh yeah, that's right, because the statehouse is next one of the largest refineries you'll ever see, right along Cancer Alley.
Federal agencies and congressional legislation is in fact how Americans receive their liberties and freedoms. It is so interesting that one of the Republican one liners under Trump is that America's rights and laws don't come from our elected leaders, they come from God. They use this line to try and do end arounds the courts, democratic traditions and the entire Civil Rights Movement. God was actually proud of the Constitution, like he was proud of the Tennis Court Oath and the Magna Carta. It was stuff he couldn't do, he's just the enabler, the means. The Republicans don't get to use and abuse God to justify illegality. Like Stephen Segal says, no one is above the law. God loves that.
All of the pain our country went through as ICE invaded our major cities looks completely ridiculous when combined with both the war in Iran and the war on drug trafficking in the Caribbean. We need Congress, let alone the Judicial Branch and public opinion to guide such policies, or see that they never even occur. You cannot tell me that DOGE and firing government inspectors were good ideas as a preamble to war on three fronts. A few things have the entire triumvirate of priorities looking quite embarassing to the Republicans. First, our own courts have shot down ICE. Secondly, the Saudis have coalesced an alliance of 14 countries, outside of American influence. The Saudis own Aramco, the worlds largest oil company, so they are taking over for America. And thirdly, the earthquake in Venezuela proves every day how we have let that country down in every conceivable way.
So maybe you've never met someone from another country with either the expertise you didn't have, or the willingness to work under conditions you never would. Perhaps you never analyzed the United Fruit Company or America's complicated relationship with its Southern neighbors. But while Hong Kong and Taiwan, China's Southern neighbors, have used capitalism to push for Democracy, the CIA and American military contractors still try to run a litney of countries to our south. And no matter how you look at it, America pulls in lots of experts and researchers every year, and always has. The Republicans have pushed racism, plain and simple. The courts have sided with all these people who have been rounded up. But the Republicans still try to say these people have no rights, despite their argument that these people's rights come from God and not the courts. How about the rights of the people on boats in the Caribbean that are being hit by missiles, what are their rights ?
The Republican immigrant war and its CIA war on the poor people of South American that seems to be about 48 years old, highlight how off the rails their Iran policy is and how important the midterms have become. Trump talked about motivating the Iranian people to rise up and demand Democracy. Then he talked about erasing Iran. Then Iran closed the Straight. Then, although Hegseth went to Congress and said he had won the war, by most estimates, Iran has held their own. America's military is fully deployed, and it is not even part of the alliance that is now tasked with ending the war. I forget who said it, but this came true - "America First leads to America alone leads to America last."
All the Republican Party has left in its basket is going around begging people to believe that it's ok that both the US and Israel aren't party to the Internatioinal Criminal Court, except when they need the court to help them with terrorists, bank thieves and spies. All the Republican Party has left is going around begging people to believe that it's ok for them to attack court decisions, except when they like the decision that the court has made. All the Republican Party has left is going around begging people to believe that it's ok for them to engage in lawfare with the media, indicting members of their own White House Press Corps just this past week. They are a disgrace. Their voters should be easily led away. Vote Democratic.
