Political Science Digest - 8/7

The Trump administration was too busy trying to upend the Supreme Court to notice, but a member of NATO just signed a defensive pact with both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The influence America once had in the world has slipped below the sand dunes. If you combine Elon Musk, history's wealthiest man and the person behind cutting off foreign aid, with Donald Trump, who takes credit for killing or jailing a number of heads of state, it's no wonder.

Trump and his whacked out krewe have talked down to Nato, elevated Putin and have absolutely nothing as far as a foreign policy. Look at what the policy would be if they had to write it down and defend it: murder on the high seas, forget about the trial; murder a succession of leaders, bomb Iran relentlessly, but ultimately lose the war, our allies and the Straight of Hormuz; bring Vlad Putin to the United States of America and let him celebrate Russia's influence as he increases his attacks on Ukraine.

But in the last week, America really went down the toilet when it comes to international influence. We took a very definitive backseat to the Saudis. And since the Saudis don't recognize Israel, it is safe to say that Donald Trump took relative Middle East Peace & Prosperity, and flushed it. America is paying the price for arming an uncontrollable Israel, and arming an uncontrollable Pete Hegseth. But let's be clear, Crown Prince MbS is now top dog, not Trump. MbS controls the oil, major sectors of professional sports and is now in charge of the Middle East peace process.

Trump continues to proclaim his victory in getting foreign companies to invest in America. It's pretty clear he is selling out segments of our economy to bad actors. Trump's own legal proceedings are getting hindered by his cash haul. Trump can't claim that anyone is hurting him or denying him anything when he clears over a billion in cash in the first year of his second administration. But Trump is being out-trumped by people who have more cash on hand, and have stolen his influence.

What are Stephen Miller, JD Vance, the Kushners, Steve Bessent, the Witkoffs and the Trumps doing for America ? The Republicans took the national priorities private. The Republicans replaced making America strong, with fleecing the federal budget for every dime. The inside dealing, the racial profiling and the murderous foreign policy has lost out to folks who dive right into racism and murder at will. Trump and the Repubicans are overseeing the breakdown of all that America is, and stands for.
